We have an internal promotion opportunity for a Manufacturing Supervisor (Backplane) in Fremont, CA. The Backplane Production Supervisor actively supervises and coordinates the activities of team workers engaged in production and oversees the production operations. This position ensures the health and safety of the team across shifts, establishes, and coordinates departmental activities to meet objectives in alignment with plant goals, and reports directly to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily production activities and provide guidance to the team.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and promote health and safety practices.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to implement departmental strategies.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
  • Check Production output according to specifications.
  • Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements
  • Setting daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicating them to employees
  • Organizing workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
  • Monitor manufacturing activities to ensure adherence to manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
  • Uphold H.R. policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Review and manage scrap disposal with effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Train, coach, and develop department employees.
  • Maintain training and professional development levels associated with modern manufacturing and management.
  • Optimize day to day activities while minimizing costs.

Qualities:
  • Ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and written skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Capable of moderate physical work, standing for extended periods, and occasional heavy lifting.
Education:
  • Required: 2-4-year related technical degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Required: Soldering experience compliant with J-STD-001.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Typically possesses 3-8 years of experience in a technical and/or assembly environment or backplane industry
