Prepares and inspects in house printing plates as required and maintains necessary plate processing equipment. Meets safety, production, sustainability and quality standards. Interacts with other departments to achieve company's core strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains all machines used in plate imaging and processing, performing and documenting all scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance for optimal operation.
  • Reviews and prioritizes printing plate production based upon the daily press schedule demand.
  • Reviews all order work instructions, job bags and copy standards in verifying all stepped image files comply with the order request, following all standard operating and checking procedures.
  • Prepares and inspects quality of all plates produced for the press department.
  • Confirms proper imaging and processing steps are taken in preparing all plates in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Documents all plates produced and confirms proper documentation has been completed for all remake requests.
  • Finishes all jobs and prepares them for distribution to the pressroom.
  • Monitors production and processing supplies and inventories necessary for plate production and reports inventory levels to the graphics manager.
  • Completes required documentation in an accurate and prompt manner.
  • Complies with established facility safety policies and procedures, other work instructions, and other regulations (IE: BRC, HAACP, GMPs) as applicable.
  • Interacts and behaves professionally. Treats all associates respectfully and professionally while maintaining company code of ethics.
  • Responsible for maintaining daily housekeeping efforts which may include painting and cleaning of facility (interior and exterior).
  • Travels as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), however a post high school education with emphasis in Graphic Design or Communications is encouraged or 5 plus years of related experience in the label industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present and communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
