Job Summary:

Panasonic Energy North America is currently seeking a skilled Employee Relations Investigator to be a part of our team at the Gigafactory. This role will conduct investigations into workplace concerns and support positive employee engagement by providing guidance and recommendations to resolve employee concerns. This role will work closely with the Human Resource Business Partners, Legal, Compliance teams and business leaders to promote equity, company values, and accountability in the workplace and to respond appropriately and fairly to employee concerns.

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct prompt, fair, impartial, and thorough investigations into sensitive employee relations issues concerning allegations such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, and PENA policy violations.
  • Thoroughly document investigative efforts internally using a case management system.
  • Conduct investigatory interviews, collect, and analyze relevant evidence, write investigation reports, and deliver debriefs with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistent application of PENA policies, procedures, and compliance.
  • Formally respond to sensitive concerns and allegations as required by internal processes and/or external agencies.
  • Foster effective relationships with HR teams, legal counsel, and business leaders.
  • Work with Human Resource Business Partners and PENA supervisors on how to appropriately manage and resolve moderately complex ER issues and performance management issues.
  • Partner with team members throughout the PENA organization to communicate and educate on policies, procedures, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Employee Relations leadership to scale and refine the employee relations function, including development of reactive and proactive initiatives, production of data analytics, and ensuring an equitable and transparent employee experience across the company.
  • Participate in the development and deployment of ER related training and other team projects as needed.
  • Consistently demonstrate and promote PENA performance competencies, with special emphasis on building trust and serving others.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

  • Basic/Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field, or equivalent work experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant employee relations or HR experience, preferably focused on ER investigations, employment legal, performance management, and/or HRBP experiences.
  • Knowledge of applicable workplace laws, regulations, and employment trends.
  • Ability to work both independently and part of a team.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Flexibility - critical for a start-up environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and can use the computer to complete online learning requirements for -specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment.
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Preferred: bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Resilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure

  • Effective at managing time and resources while prioritizing and balancing multiple commitments with some input from manager.
