Job Description
The Incumbent serves as the primary support staff for the lower division labs in Cellular Basis of Life (Bio 2) and . Organisms in Their Environment (Bio 3). The person filling the position also has significant responsibilities as back-up for all other biology labs prepped by staff, assisting where available. Provides guidance regarding equipment and other laboratory procedures to teaching assistants, staff, and faculty. Effective communication with faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students to provide assistance, supervision, or instruction as needed is essential to the successful performance of the position. The performance of the duties In this position can affect the lab experience of 800 plus students each quarter. Maintain accurate records for the receipt of deliveries for three departments, Inventory of supplies and equipment and chemical or biohazard waste. May direct daily activities of student employees to accomplish these goals, thus requiring the ability to prioritize tasks for self and others.

The full salary range for the Lab Assistant 2 is $21.47 - $25.29 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
