Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer providing support to AFLCMC/HNC a one-of-a-kind Air Force activity which provides life cycle management for information assurance and other critical systems. The division's primary mission is cyberspace support. AFLCMC/HNC is responsible for technology development, acquisition, sustainment, and demilitarization of cyber security systems or products that provide mission assurance by ensuring warfighter access to the information systems and its products, while denying adversaries access to the same. The division also provides product support to other critical Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD), and national force protection and intelligence systems required by the nation to mobilize, deploy, support, and sustain operations. AFLCMC/HNC is organized into 10 branches spread across multiple facilities.

This will support the HNC Distributed Cyber Warfare Operations (HNC DCWO) Office.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Determining operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
  • Documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
  • Preparing and installing solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
  • Improving operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures
  • Obtaining and licensing software by obtaining required information from vendors, recommending purchases, testing, and approving products
  • Providing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
  • Accomplishing engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Developing software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the software development life cycle
  • Plan and or implement agile acquisition/SW development techniques
  • Plan and or implement DevOps processes and techniques for Cloud and non-cloud applications
  • reviewing, preparing, and analyzing all types of documentation, planning, requirements, design, V&V, support, and test--to include source code, configuration files, and engineering resolution support
Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain an active Top Secret clearance

Education: MA/MS and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, of which 5 years must be in the DoD, OR

    • BA/BS degree and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, of which 5 year must be in the DoD OR
    • 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in Job Descriptions, of which 8 year must be in the DoD.
  • Experience on DoD or Air Force acquisition programs desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment meeting end users' requirement
  • Comfortable working and collaborating with a prime contractor delivering all engineering and software development services.

Preferred Qualifications:

Clearance: Top Secret

Education: MA/MS
