Job Description
Overview
The Lab Services Technician will perform all required planning and scheduling
to support the Laboratory Instrument Services (LIS) program to
maximize maintenance productivity during a job and eliminate lost
time between jobs.

Essential Functions:
Scientific Support: Collaborate with colleagues and client to aid in site production output by assisting in proper instrument operation.
Instrument Maintenance: Ensure that departmental instrumentation is well maintained, calibrated and in working condition. This may require internal maintenance and repair of the instruments and/or working with outside companies to schedule preventative and other maintenance and repair.
Instrument Scheduling and Training: Manage the scheduling of instruments in the department, and training of colleagues on the instrumentation to ensure proper instrument usage and safety.
Maintain a central repository for all instrumentation software, manuals, and documentation both electronically and physically for communal departmental use. Work with the staff on instrument computer system management.
Training on specific equipment will be provided.
Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.

Responsibilities:
Adhere to all client work specifications andguidelines ensure planning and scheduling taking into account all regulatory requirements including reporting dates /requirements.
Laboratory equipment is installed correctly in a timely manner
Maintenance, repair, calibration, reliability, compliance, vendor
management, CMMS documentation and
asset management oflaboratory equipment, including but not limited, to: Analyzers,Spectrophotometers, Plate Washers, Plate Stackers, flashPurification Systems, Histology Equipment, Plate Sealers,Evaporators, Robotics, Liquid Handlers, Pipettes, IncubatorsBalances, Centrifuges, Laboratory Scale Oil filled Vacuum Pumps.
Some repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance work andrelated documentation will be executed in compliance withpertinent regulations, AHJs and client proceduresservice provider (including 3rd parties) shall be trained in client specific procedures and safety requirements
Maintenance, repair, calibration, reliability, compliance,vendor management, EAMS documentation and assetmanagement of laboratory equipment
Planning and scheduling
Documentation data input and support client data systems
Administration and procurement support

Required Qualifications and Education:
Associates degree in a science-based or engineering
Three or more years professional experience in the field of instrumental service and analysis.
Experience with instrumentation software and computing systems.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience troubleshooting and problem solving with a minimum of supervision.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor of Science/Arts or Associates in a science-based or engineering field preferred.
Experience instrument support and troubleshooting.
Ability to prepare information for reports (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Ability to lift and move equipment.
