Title: Environmental Sales Representative - North-Eastern US/Canada

Location: US/Canada

Job Term: Full-Time (remote)

The Opportunity:

Picarro is looking for a highly motivated Environmental Sales Representative to lead our sales efforts in the North -Eastern US & Canada. This individual will further accelerate the sales of Picarro's products and services to customers in academia, government institutions and commercial companies. Ideally they will already have some experience of selling into Scientific/Environmental instrument markets and possess technical knowledge of Geosciences and scientific instrumentation. This individual will be reporting to Associate Director of Sales, Americas and will be responsible for the regional sales and business development efforts, as well as building and maintaining customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales of stable isotope and trace gas concentration instruments, within Picarro's Environmental division, to customers in academia, government institutions and commercial companies.
  • Implement and optimize account and territory sales and business development strategies, while promoting the sale of products and services to customers in North-Eastern US & Canada.
  • Identify and develop new markets for existing Picarro products, services, and solutions in areas of geoscience research, air quality, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and other.
  • Perform technical sales calls and in-person visits, demonstrate instruments and applications, and attend trade shows and conferences.

* Prepare technical bids for public RFPs and RFQs.

* Work closely with Inside Sales to qualify sales leads, update customer records, sales opportunities, prepare Quotes, track sales funnel and create reports in CRM.

* Directly participate in opportunity pipeline management and sales forecasting

* Collaborate with Application Science and Technical Support teams to manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

* 2-4 years of Scientific Instrument sales experience with a proven track record of sales performance is required.

* BSc/BA degree or higher, preferably in Geosciences / STEM.

* Experience with CRM, MS Office, and other sales-related software is required.

* "Start-up" mentality and keen on working in a small, yet growing sales environment.

* Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills.

* Strong presentation, communication, and technical skills.

* Excellent organizational and time management skills.

* Keen understanding and appreciation of selling into academia and government with highly technical and traditionally long sales cycles.

* Knowledge of the operation and funding processes of academic and commercial research laboratories.

* Strong critical thinking skills and problem-solving ability to solve problems with minimal supervision or direction.

* Experience with operation of sophisticated analytical instrumentation is a plus

* Full, valid driver's license is required.

* Willingness to travel as needed (>50%).

Salary & Benefits:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $68,000 - $120,000. Your base salary and title will be determined based on the location, experience, qualification, skills, knowledge, level, and pay of employees in similar positions.
