Job Description:

Broadcom is seeking a results-driven, experienced Web Developer to join the Web & Digital team in Corporate Marketing. This is a dynamic role in which the ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the corporate marketing teams and multiple business units to create compelling online experiences for Broadcom customers and end-users.

On a day-to-day basis, the Web Developer will maintain and publish code and content on broadcom.com and other web properties, and serve as a "go-to" front end expert and technical liaison between marketing groups, external development and infrastructure staff, and business stakeholders. The Web Developer will work closely with the Web & Digital manager and development team on new and existing projects. The position requires the ability to scope, define, manage, and lead the implementation of online projects from concept through to production launch and post-launch assessment, based on business requirements defined by the stakeholders.

A key aspect of the role is to apply a service-oriented attitude to facilitate rapid iteration and improvement across all web properties. Must have experience working with geographically dispersed team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projected workload balance of 30% project and relationship management and 70% development and implementation

  • Develop and maintain UI server code

  • Research, design and maintain UI/UX technology and code architecture

  • Install and maintain vendor/3rd-party modules

  • Create, validate, and approve JSON contracts and templates with the back-end team

  • Develop and maintain team development tools and environment build scripts

  • Participate in ongoing development projects with team code reviews, triage tasks and bugs, UI sanity checks, unit testing, and validations.

  • Design, develop and implement page templates, reusable components, component templates and other optimizations against design specifications.

  • Write documentation

  • Front-end Web production and support (HTML, CSS, images, etc.)as needed

  • Be an advocate for design and UI issues throughout engineering and QA phases of development.

  • Work with stakeholders to understand requests, gather and document requirements

  • Stay current with changing web technologies and trends

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 12+ years' experience developing web applications and sites

  • Must be able to build HTML/JavaScript & CSS that is clean and standards-compliant

  • Experience and expertise:

    • Java/J2EE Framework

    • Java Script, Bootstrap, jQuery, AJAX, and JSON

    • Apache Webserver, nginx and Amazon S3

    • React, NodeJS, AngularJS, EXTJS

    • WebLogic and JBoss application servers

    • Databases: MongoDB, Postgres, MySQL, MySQL 2005 and Oracle 11g

    • Working with SVN, GIT and JIRA

    • Agile Software development and code/performance optimizing techniques

  • Experience with Contentstack a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills

  • Familiarity with information architecture/design and user experience best practices

  • Highly motivated, organized, able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent year of experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Location - Open to locations in/near the San Franciso Bay Area, Austin, Texas or Irvine, CA.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $78,000 - $150,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
