Responsibilities

This role lies on the boundaries of engineering disciplines including electrical, mechanical, materials and software. The successful candidate will support microcircuit New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives through a variety of responsibilities including process research and development, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, product testing, process integration and programming. They will have transferrable background in manufacturing and fast paced production.

The microcircuit NPI organization serves Keysight's Electronic Industrial Solutions Group, Communications Solutions Group and Keysight Labs. Together we provide RF, microwave, mmWave, 5G and 6G Test and Measurement solutions to customers in the communications, aerospace & defense, automotive & energy, general electronics, manufacturing, and semiconductor industries.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Conduct microcircuit design reviews for manufacturability
  • Create automated assembly programs for epoxy dispense, pick and place, and wire bonding machines
  • Design mechanical tooling fixtures for assembly, electrical and environmental testing of products
  • Enable emerging next generation 6G products by developing and implementing novel manufacturable solutions
  • Write and maintain process and product documentation
  • Ensure product quality and yield through prototype and production builds, troubleshoot and respond to mechanical or electrical test failures
  • As a technical leader, communicate with R&D and Manufacturing partners in the US and worldwide
  • Partner with mechanical and electronic designers, process engineers, technicians and customers across functions to meet project deliverables and Project Life Cycle (PLC) checkpoints
  • Lead manufacturing experiments and reliability testing; interpret, analyze, and report results
  • Mentor other engineers and technicians in area of expertise
  • Develop software tools that will efficiently translate designers' CAD data into machine code for assembling microcircuits. These tools will be used by Process Engineers to program automated epoxy dispense, component placement and wire bonding machines.


Qualifications

* 7+ years of transferrable academic and professional experience in electronic manufacturing and R&D.
* BS in Engineering: Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or related fields. M.S. and PhD preferred.

* Research and development experience in new technology introduction of microcircuit or electronic assembly * Proactiveness and flexibility working with large and diverse groups* Demonstrated leadership and accountability* Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and follow-through* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong hands-on approach

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.

California pay range: MIN $111,940.00 - MAX $186,570.00

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
