DESCRIPTION

The Administrative, Clinical, and Surgical Care Coordinator is a high level position providing executive level support including Administrative, Academic, Projects, Clinical, and Surgical Care Coordination. As both our Cardiac and Thoracic volume continue to grow, in addition to hiring two new Faculty members, this position will support these new team members, which will include a Cardiac and Surgical Oncology Faculty member.

Independently responsible for weekly database registry transcription of all surgical cases performed by Thoracic Surgical Oncology Faculty members both here at UCSD and external hospital locations including Kaiser, Palomar, Scripps Encinitas and the VA. Assist with the Lung Cancer Screening program was instituted to meet State and Federal guidelines, this requires collaboration with the Lung Cancer Screening Nurse Navigator, the Lung Cancer Screening Nurse Practioner, with daily review and scheduling of these specific patient referrals. These patients require in depth assistance with coordination of all required testing prior to consultation - including imaging, labs, and Smoking cessation screening consult visit.

Assistance with new clinical trials projects maintaining spreadsheet patient and trial outcome reports for Faculty member. Assist with quality care reporting for our weekly M&M meetings.
Weekly coordination of the Thoracic Surgery Quality and Research meeting, in which spreadsheets are created of past surgical cases as well as all new cases pending scheduling and overview of each new referral for review. Responsible for assistance with all Academic duties including memberships, dues, privileges, Academic Reviews, CV updates, Biobib updates, clinical competency reviews, Licensing and DEA renewals, etc... Accompany Faculty and APP to clinic sessions as needed to provide outstanding customer service to patients, family members, and internal staff while the patient is at the clinic visit. Provides assistance with reports creation, database entry, and other patient care needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Six years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of related experience.

  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Analytic skills to recognize problems, present alternatives, implement solutions and follow through to ensure effective change.

  • Must have working knowledge and understanding of clinical care in outreach locations. Must possess a background in clinical service.

  • Solid communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing. Possess skills of tact, poise, diplomacy, confidentiality, and hospitality with a diverse population of staff, faculty, industry, and the community in a high-pressure and demanding environment.

  • Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs. Experience with computerized systems, database management and spreadsheet and word-processing programs to manipulate data and create reports.

  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts with creativity and authority while maintaining a professional relationship. Ability to control situations or events in the absence of higher authority and ability to make recommendations or decisions that affect office operations and activities

  • Advanced organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently, determine appropriate priorities, and complete projects accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of attention to details, despite competing deadlines.

  • Skill in independently researching, compiling, organizing, interpreting and selecting data and materials from various sources. Ability to accurately interpret and implement policies and procedures and effectively communicate and disseminate information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of UCSD Systems including, FinancialLink, TravelLink, EmployeeLink, BLINK and Marketplace.
  • Knowledge of UCSD policies and procedures, including the willingness to understand and enforce these policies when required.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,580 - $98,282 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.45 - $47.07

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
