Packaging Planner San Mateo, CA

9-month contract

Role overview:

  • Reporting into the Packaging Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating packaging projects, including standard software, Special/Collector's Editions, and any Hardware Bundles on a global scale.
  • Liaise with both internal and external teams throughout projects, such as Marketing, Creative, Legal, PS&C, Localisation, external repro agency, print vendors and warehouses to ensure we deliver comprehensive and quality packaging solutions on time, and to spec.

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for managing allocated Packaging projects from start to finish. Ensuring you receive the correct brief from all departments, collating all required information in a timely manner, and sharing this with the repro agency at the agreed time.
  • Accountable for ensuring all allocated projects meet their deadlines. Keeping them on track by keeping in close contact with other departments throughout.
  • Coordinate closely with other branches of the Packaging team, to ensure information has been shared with the repro agency and projects are able to progress.
  • Throughout the artwork approval process, be the POC for the project and ensure all stakeholders carry out their review within the given time frame. Support stakeholders when necessary to help them reach an agreement.
  • Accountable for adhering to artwork sign off dates (as agreed with Packaging Manager) and timely escalation of any concerns or obstacles, as appropriate.
  • Responsible for carrying out a thorough quality check of all packaging artworks when created. Ensure all comments have been captured by the repro agency.
  • Fortnightly/weekly alignment with packaging counterparts to share any common issues/findings.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in packaging development and print management, including experience with manufacturing and procurement.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management, with proven track record of hitting deadlines.
  • 3+ years of experience working with international packaging partners and suppliers.
  • Proven experience of working with complex SKU set ups, local age rating bodies and country specific legal requirements.
  • Knowledge of working with glossaries and naming conventions.
  • Highly effective communication, sourcing, consulting, and collaboration skills.
  • Reprographic experience desirable.
  • Precision, accuracy, and attention to detail is essential to carry out the review of assets.

  • Motivated, reliable, self-starter who uses initiative to work proactively.
  • Experience managing stakeholders across the world.
  • Strong at building relationships
  • Effective communication skills
  • A natural aptitude for learning and understanding multiple systems and tools
  • IT literate
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Detail orientated
  • Foreign language knowledge a strong plus
  • InDesign and Illustrator knowledge advantageous
