Overview

TRC is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Engineer to join our growing Engineering, Construction, and Remediation practice in Concord, San Francisco, or Rancho Cordova, California. The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental Project Management, the design and construction of environmental remediation, stormwater compliance, wastewater, solid waste, and/or general engineering projects. The candidate will be part of TRC's engineering practice in Northern California in conjunction with staff in TRC's Concord, San Francisco, and Sacramento offices.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in a broad variety of environmental-focused assignments including soil, soil-vapor, and groundwater sampling and remediation; work plan development; and related reporting, monitoring and permitting.
  • Environmental site assessment and remediation, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), and the field assessment of contaminated soil, soil-vapor, indoor air, and groundwater.
  • Prepare and implement remedial investigation and response action work plans.
  • Overseeing field work activities including planning work, developing work plans, and coordinating with subcontractors and clients.
  • Lead and perform remediation system design, construction oversight, operation and maintenance experience.
  • Perform Quality Analysis/Quality Control of deliverables related to projects and tasks managed, as well as projects and tasks managed by others, and are responsible for implementation of the firms' quality procedures at project and task levels.
  • Write and review technical documents, reports and engineering designs, ensuring quality and consistent delivery of materials.
  • Direct, manage and monitor multiple project budgets, scopes, and schedules phases including initiating, execution, tracking, and closing.
  • Interface well with and develop a rapport and positive relationship with our clients and employees.
  • Maintain a billable utilization target.
  • Have strong communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Construction CQA and oversight
  • Interpreting data, conducting analyses, comparing findings to regulations to ensure compliance
  • Communicating with clients and coordinating with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients
  • Preparing summary reports, technical memoranda and email correspondence

Implementing TRC's safety, quality, and project management programs


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or Geology; Master's degree (preferred)
  • Licensed California P.E. or P.G.
  • 5 to 15 years of civil/environmental engineering consulting and construction experience. Educational experience will be considered.
  • Experience writing and reviewing technical documents, reports and engineering designs, ensuring quality and consistent delivery of materials
  • In-field experience performing remediation work at industrial sites.
  • California Construction Stormwater QSP/QSD (preferred)
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, including current annual refresher (preferred)
  • OSHA 8-hour HAZWOPER Supervisor certification (preferred)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding and applying basic engineering principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope and budgets
  • Ability to work independently or in a project team with demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications, presentations, analytical, professional judgment, and team building skills
  • Prepare construction and industrial Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans,
  • Developing construction documents (drawings, specifications and cost estimates), and providing bid assistance (preparing bid sheets, and reviewing contractor bids)
  • Experience with landfill design, CQA and operation
  • Experience with hydrogeologic modelling
  • Strong technical writing and data management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety practices
  • Work to cross-sell TRC services and increase business.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, and deliver responsive, high quality services.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD, ESRI ArcGIS and Microsoft Project or equivalent project scheduling packages a plus
  • Ability to learn through on-the-job experience
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Ability to periodically travel up to 6 hours driving time for assignments lasting up to 2 weeks

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $105,00-$117,00. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range

USD $105,000.00 - USD $117,000.00 /Yr.
