We are looking for a team-oriented, self-motivated individual with great communication skills to join our Strategic Sourcing team, based out of San Mateo, California. You will collaborate and drive engagements to source, negotiate, contract, and execute for Marketing activities including Event, Meeting, Tradeshow and Sponsorship services.

You will function as primary liaison for business partners, i.e., Marketing, Sales, and other functions, working closely with them to lead Sourcing initiatives in meeting and event marketing program's development and execution. You will drive to achieve business objectives, revenue growth opportunities, supplier innovation and expense reductions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Advise stakeholders with regards to market insights, supplier selection and favorable legal and commercial terms.
  • Drive complex sourcing strategies, scope requirements, business partnerships, and navigate complexity within a global matrix organization.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and other supported business functions on destinations, hotels, venues, event and other marketing agencies, and production companies for the development of business requirements by collaborating with the stakeholder.
  • Run RFx activities, negotiate contracts and marketing stakeholder collaboration for advertising, demand generation, marketing technology (MARTECH) and ABM deals, social media purchases, creative services, CRM, corp branding items and market research companies.
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure that the financial scope of the programs are monitored and coming in on target.
  • Advise stakeholder and suppliers on program itinerary development or working agenda that outlines program specifics and requirements.
  • Develop, review, and manage contracts to ensure the accuracy of program specific and generic terms and conditions, including total and itemized program costs, deposits, attrition rates and dates, cancellation policies, etc., to protect the best interests of Snowflake. Manage contracts with venues, hotels, agencies, air and third-party contractors.
  • Have working knowledge of attendee management platforms, such as Cvent and Rainfocus.
  • Facilitate between IT, business stakeholders and suppliers to make available the technologies required for the event or meeting program.
  • Serve as a support to leadership and FP&A in the areas of forecasting, cost strategy, and budgeting. Negotiate savings and ensure that they are realized.
  • Partner with the Corporate Travel team to communicate the travel policy, registration and air needs, status meetings and continuous communication throughout the program.
  • Develop and execute the implementation of standard practices and process improvements.
  • Keep abreast of industry standards and trends related to responsibilities while maintaining knowledge of technology and/or software solutions.
  • May travel to destinations domestically, in support of site inspections and/or program operations.
SOURCING RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • The successful candidate shall have strong experience with the full sourcing & procurement process, analytical and risk management skills, and exceptional relationship management and consultative skills.
  • Develop, lead, and execute financial analysis, category management, sourcing, RFx, vendor selection and relationship management.
  • Drive RFx process to select the right suppliers, services, and products for Snowflake.
  • Develop, redline, and negotiate complex contracts, commercial terms, and SLAs.
  • Lead and execute market research, benchmarking and spend analysis as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations and internal policies and procedures.
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT :
  • Maintain a proactive, positive, open line of communication with stakeholders to ensure understanding of expectations and their satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular status meetings with suppliers and stakeholders from pre-launch through program operation.
  • Embraces the growth mindset way of thinking and management, including welcoming demanding tasks, and constructive feedback. Embrace setting stretch goals and thinking in new directions.
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) to ensure consistency using best practice approach, experience, and knowledge.
  • Train peers and stakeholders the best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS :
  • 4+ years of Strategic Sourcing, negotiation and contract review, development and drafting experience, running large RFx for Marketing, Meeting, Event, Tradeshow and Sponsorship services
  • Prior working experience to develop, lead and execute sourcing strategy for global event and meeting category
  • Prior working experience in industry renowned event agencies or event production firms
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the business decision making while maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships
  • Limited travel may be required
  • 4+ years of demonstrated ability to achieve targeted, positive outcomes and results
  • Strong MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Preferred experience with Cvent, Rainfocus, Bizzabo, DocuSign, major ERP system(s)

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $143,000 - $204,700.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
