Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

Position Overview
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the security, maintenance, and services of the company facilities to ensure that a well-kept, clean, and safe workplace environment is maintained for the employees and visitors. This position will lead and manage the facilities service team, including maintenance staff and contractors, janitorial services, security personnel, and other related staff, ensuring that all site services are effectively delivered.
Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance work orders.
  • Supervise, coach, and train facility staff, ensuring routine maintenance on facilities and monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas.
  • Manage and maintain the facility operations and systems to meet business needs and objectives including buildings, plumbing systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, alarm systems, janitorial and security.
  • Conduct regular routine inspections and audits to identify maintenance issues, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement, and coordinate appropriate repairs.
  • Establish and manage vendor relationships, including the selection, negotiation, and oversight of service agreements, and ensuring scope of services, level of standards and customer satisfaction are met.
  • Work with project managers and contractors on the planning and execution of site-related projects, such as facility expansions, renovations, and enhancements to the quality and safety of the site facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines, including emergency preparedness and response protocols.
  • Assist Senior Director, Facilities in the planning and managing of OPEX and CAPEX budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial targets.
  • Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security vendors.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards to ensure efficient and effective site services, including facility maintenance, landscaping, security, parking, and waste management.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly reviews of all facility work order completion times and address missed KPI's.
  • Other duties as assigned, including special facilities projects as needed.
    Requirements
    • Associates or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in facilities management.
    • 10 years of related professional experience with at least 5 years in facility/laboratory/clean room operations and people management experience.
    • Professional certifications in facility management or related fields (e.g., CFM, FMP) are desirable.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of equipment, systems, and facility maintenance programs and procedures, including maintenance, security, janitorial services, and landscaping.
    • Advanced knowledge of building codes, fire codes and relevant regulations, compliance standards, and health and safety requirements.
    • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to hire, inspire and motivate a team.
    • Ability to work independently, make immediate decisions to respond quickly to specific situations, and ability to work and coordinate a team to attain optimal performance and services rendered to location facilities.
    • Experience with multiple facilities and multiple environments (i.e. office, laboratory, and clean room)
    • Proven experience working with vendor management and negotiating service contracts.
    • Basic knowledge electrical and plumbing, heating, ventilation, and HVAC systems.
    • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple demands simultaneously.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Sound financial acumen and budget management skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
    • Ability to physically bend, reach and lift up to 25 pounds.
    • Must be an excellent team player, open to direction and collaborative work styles.

    Market Range: $121,000 - $151,000
    Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
