SmithGroup is looking for aSenior Human Resources Managerto join our West region team. This position will be based in our San Francisco office and will support the Portland, Sacramento, and San Francisco offices.

Working with us, you will:

  • Manage overall HR strategies including compensation, benefits, HRIS, employee relations, data analysis, management, organizational development, staffing plans, and operating budgets for the region.
  • Implement tools and practices to ensure that HR services are consistently provided across the region, ensuring the needs and requirements of all stakeholders are understood and addressed with satisfaction.
  • Oversee the delivery of critical HR processes and compliance with all federal, state, and local statutory requirements including EEO, NLRB, OFCCP, etc.
  • Oversee the region's recruiting activities by implementing strategies, processes and procedures that build a high quality and diverse talent pipeline, including overseeing all states of the candidate experience.
  • Provide counsel and oversight on all immigration matters, work closely with outside counsel to ensure timely and accurate filing of required applications and delivery of high touch support.
  • Serve as trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing counsel on complex employee relations matters including internal investigations, disciplinary, performance improvement and conflict resolution while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Proactively keep abreast of and execute regulatory requirements, industry trends, and employment law best practices for respective locations by periodically attending seminars and other educational opportunities.
  • Lead and participate in HR and regional project areas that advance the HR strategic plan and company objectives.

An ideal candidate has:

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field and 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in human resources management, required. Master's degree or certificate in specialization preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM Certified Professional preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of human resources principles and practices including employment law, EEO and other regulatory compliance, employee relations, performance management, immigration, and compensation.
  • Proven problem solving, strategic thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to anticipate business needs and proactively propose solutions.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, ability to dissect complex problems and make informed decisions by evaluating several different sources of information objectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business and HR acumen and the ability to understand and align HR strategies with organizational goals.

SmithGroup's competitive compensation and benefit package is designed meet the needs of a diverse staff. The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $149,000 annually, at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for this position. Additionally, an employee in this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus on an annual basis. Our comprehensive benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances. We offer 3 weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment, with the option of purchasing additional time off, 8 paid federal holidays, and parental leave benefits.
