Job Summary
The Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center is a highly visible position within UCSF Health. Reporting to the Executive Director of Heart and Vascular Services, this position assists with the development and implementation of new programs, policies, and patient care service standards, and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. The Director will be accountable for the overall administrative planning and coordination of the staffing, fiscal, and material resources for the following areas:
The Director will be responsible for hiring, onboarding and managing a multidisciplinary team. Utilizing Lean methodology, the director will be responsible for assessing workflows to optimize productivity and satisfaction. The Director works with staff on a clearly defined, clearly communicated vision, and engages individuals and groups to achieve that vision. The Director identifies and develops organizational talent and embraces continuous learning of self and others. Additionally, the Director will respond to all patient satisfaction concerns and evaluate means for programmatic improvement. This includes responsibility for the program development, management, and overall day-to-day business operations.
The Director collaborates with Medical Director, Surgical Director, and Executive Director for Heart and Vascular Services to advance quality strategies, ensure a positive professional work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance patient and staff satisfaction. The Director oversees all aspects of the provision of clinical services including the maintenance of safety and technical/clinical performance, human resources, quality, standards of care, practice guidelines, service delivery and patient and customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for financial accountability and working collaboratively with the Director and Transplant Business Manager and the Executive Director for Heart and Vascular Services to monitor the operating budget. Designs and leads operations for large department and / or multiple cardiovascular service lines. Assists with the development and implementation of new programs, policies, and patient care service standards. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Accountable for the overall administrative planning and coordination of the staffing, fiscal, and material resources.

We use the most advanced tools to diagnose cardiovascular disease and our physicians include world-renowned experts in every area of Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery and Vascular Surgery. Our experts are available to provide consultation for all aspects of cardiovascular care and preventions. We strive to provide rapid, seamless referrals.
UCSF Transplant Services provides care to kidney, heart, liver, lung and pancreas patients with end stage organ failure requiring transplantation. Each year we evaluate over 2,000 potential recipients and living donors and perform over 600 transplants. UCSF is one of the busiest transplant programs in the country with excellent post-transplant outcomes. Our multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians provides cutting edge care to our patients and their families.
UCSF Adult Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) program provides clinical care and technical expertise in the care of patients with end-stage heart and/or pulmonary failure and patients in refractory cardiopulmonary collapse. The MCS program deploys and supports a variety of mechanical blood pumps and artificial membrane lungs available within the ever-evolving landscape of circulatory support technologies in order to keep these critically-ill patients alive- sometimes supporting the patient until they either recover their organ function, or when indicated as a bridge until the patient ca receive a transplant.
