Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Provide technical and task management support for site investigation and remediation projects.
  • Perform surface and subsurface field investigations including drilling, geologic logging, and environmental media sampling (groundwater, surface water, soil, sediment, air/vapor, and waste).
  • Conduct environmental site assessments, facility inspections, and construction oversight as directed.
  • Prepare and manage technical reports such as routine groundwater monitoring reports and remedial work plans; Phase I and II ESAs; SPCC Plans; SWPPPs; VI Assessments; and complete permit applications and documents associated with RCRA industrial and hazardous waste facilities.
  • Review and research regulatory topics, along with determining regulatory applicability to processes and problems.
  • Support client opportunities and proposal preparation, and gain increasing responsibility with project tasks through training provided by Geosyntec and by working with senior staff and management.
  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, defensive driving certification, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 50%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 25%

Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in geology, environmental science, or environmental engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology, environmental science, or environmental engineering. (preferred)
  • Geologist in Training (GIT) certification or other relevant certification, or the ability to obtain certification. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of directly related environmental or engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Field experience is required.
  • General understanding of state and federal environmental regulatory framework.
  • Strong technical writing, task management, and communication skills. (required)
  • Experience with soil and groundwater remediation. (required)
  • Experience with environmental permitting and compliance. (preferred)
  • Prior experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
