The Global Segment Marketing and Market Intelligence Program is chartered is drive customer wallet and mindshare across all Markets served by Agilent. As a team, our mission is to lead the development of end-market strategies and the execution of cross-functional market initiatives with the goal of penetrating (strengthening) existing and emerging markets, maximize market share, revenue, and growth!

 

The AFO Materials Segment Manager role will be to characterize end marketing opportunities, perform market analysis, work with customer facing teams and the product divisions to define the market and customer needs.  In addition, this role will work across the organization as the Materials regional market and customer champion to help define and then support marketing programs and promotions targeted to this market that drive awareness, lead generation and revenue. This role will also be responsible for working with external customers and customer facing teams to building relationships with key opinion leaders, initiate and support collaborations and represent Agilent by taking on a leadership role on relevant external committees and societies.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

In this position you will have intimate knowledge of the Advanced Materials market, the customers, their needs, and the technology that enables them to do this work. Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with the global and regional marketing teams to help define and then implement our marketing strategies, messaging, and sales programs to drive product demand and revenue.

  • Working collaboratively with the regional sales to provide sales tools, training, and market insights to drive market penetration.

  • Working collaboratively with the Solutions Units and Product Lines to provide feedback on market trends, new opportunities, new regulations, and new product requirements.

  • Working with the regional market development managers to align sales focus and develop customer collaborations to support the end-market strategy and execution.

  • Working with the regions and product lines to monitor and help respond to competitors marketing activities, positioning and tactics.

  • Taking an active role in working w key industry and regulatory agencies to influence regulations and test methods.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Master’s or PhD degree in related field of science

  • Master’s degree in business administration is highly desirable.

  • 8+ years’ experience in a senior sales, support, or marketing in the analytical technology industry.

  • Experience selling or marketing to industrial accounts would be an asset.

  • A proven track record in developing and implementing market strategies to exceed business goals.

  • Experience selling, supporting, or marketing chromatography and/or spectroscopy solutions.

  • Knowledge of the Battery and Semi-Conductor product development process.  

  • Experience working effectively in a highly matrixed organization.

  • The ability to work independently to implement projects according to strict timelines and budget.

  • Experience performing market analysis and developing business cases is desirable.

  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and software skills (MS Suite).

  • Ability to travel up to 25% within North America.
