Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a talented Entry Level Transportation Design Engineer with 0-2 years of experience looking to pursue a career in transportation design engineering in our Baton Rouge, LA office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in roadway design for arterials for local agencies, as well as freeways and traffic interchanges for state, national, and international projects. This candidate will work with our senior engineering and project management staff on plan development for a comprehensive range of transportation design projects, including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, earthwork modeling, 3D roadway modeling, quantities calculations, construction specifications, and utility coordination.

Essential duties include:

  • Conducting project site visits and field investigations.
  • Performing design computations.
  • Preparing and checking quantity calculations.
  • Assisting in roadway plan development using computer aided drafting and design programs.
  • Adhering to company standards for quality control.
  • Researching and understanding City, County, State, Federal, and International Engineering Design Standards.

The preferred candidate is enthusiastic, detail-oriented and has transportation engineering experience working on ADOT projects.

Background requirements include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation engineering preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training certificate (or ability to obtain within six months).
  • Experience using either Bentley's Microstation and OpenRoads Designer Software.
  • Experience using Microsoft products.
  • Strong oral communication and technical writing skills.
