Responsibilities

TRC is a global consulting firm providing environmentally advanced and technology-powered solutions for the oil - gas, power, environmental and infrastructure industries. TRC has over 7,000 employees in over 150 offices globally, including the United States, Canada, China, and the UK.

TRC is seeking a highly motivated Geo-Environmental Project Manager to join our growing Geo-Environmental engineering team in our Madison, WI office. This position will focus on the management and growth of projects in the commercial/industrial/public geo-environmental/civil engineering, containment system, and solid waste management areas in the United States.

This position will build, develop, and grow business relationships and direct and manage execution of projects. Typical consulting services provided by this team includes civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, geographic information system mapping - data management, and geotechnical laboratory testing services in support of siting, permitting, design, and construction of renewable (solar and wind) energy, industrial by-product/residual management, and landfill projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - TASKS

  • Sales development of clients through direct client contact, staff mentoring and coaching. The goal will be to capture follow-on work, expand TRC service offerings, and support TRC value propositions.
  • Project management, including financial management, contract negotiation, directing technical work, and client and regulatory liaison.
  • Client advocate within TRC, providing client feedback to TRC on changing needs, trends, expectations, and satisfaction and keeping clients informed of significant issues that might affect them.
  • Technical resource in field of expertise and mentor to others.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Professional or technical degree in engineering, geology, or other environmental related discipline.
  • Client development experience and 5+ years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Specific experience in a similar role within an engineering consulting firm is required. Demonstrated track record in client development and project management required. Candidates should have strong business development and project management skills. Demonstrated sales process and understanding of project management processes required.
  • Must be able to travel as needed. Must be able to use automobile and plane transportation. Will be required to work on client sites that require walking and some climbing.
  • Successful candidates will have well developed interpersonal and leadership skills, be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, and show a history of successful technical and financial project management acumen. Candidates with some loyal existing clients / accounts are preferred.

Compensation: Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
