POSITION SUMMARY:

Under supervision, performs non-invasive diagnostic tests for cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial and peripheral venous diseases in order to support the goal of quality patient care.

Position: Vascular Laboratory Technologist       

Department: Vascular Lab

Schedule: Full Time

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

2 years of technical training beyond high school

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

R.V.T. or R.D.M.S. is preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Work requires a knowledge of Biology and Anatomy in order to perform tests and interpret raw data.
  • Work requires knowledge of general department and hospital procedures, as well as proficiency in performing technical work. Such knowledge is normally acquired during three to six months of experience.
  • Work requires the analytical ability to solve problems of, limited technical complexity. Standard methods, guides and procedures are followed in the resolution of such problems.
  • Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to explain examination procedures to patients; and to work effectively with physicians and other hospital professionals.
