Packer 2 - Weekend Days

Friday - Sunday and every other Thursday 5:00am - 5:00pm

The hourly wage for this position is $17.83 to $18.56 plus $1/hour shift dif.

Sign On Bonus - $2,000

This highly visible position is located at our Ridgefield, WA Facility.

What you'll do:

This position will be responsible for performing packaging machine operation. Packer 2 employees must receive training according to the applicable work instructions prior to operating the machine. Only Department Trainers or other department personnel that have completed the necessary specific "Train the Trainer" training may conduct training.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Wear proper GMP and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) attire for all tasks including shoe covers, gowns, hair restraint(s), gloves, masks, sleeve covers, hearing protection, safety glasses, etc.

  • Ensure proper clean room attire is worn in the clean room.

  • Understand and adhere to Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.

  • Assist in performing line clearance and cleaning once one process order is complete before starting the next.

  • Perform any and all duties and responsibilities of a Packer 1 when needed.

  • Operate packaging equipment including an Ohlson high speed bottling machine, WeighPack machine, AMS, Auto Labeler machine, etc.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need:

  • High school diploma or GED plus one (1) year work experience and/or equivalent combination of experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the job.

  • Knowledge of finished goods release procedures.

  • Knowledge of Work Order completion procedures, including identification, inventory, and return of unused materials.

  • Ability to sort, count, and verify product quantities.

  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately.

  • Ability to read and carry out oral and written instructions in English.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.

  • Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.

  • Ability to detect problems or flawed products and report information to appropriate personnel.

  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infraction control standards.

  • Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.

  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and clean room attire; perform moderate physical activity which requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to twelve (12) hours per shift and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds; and perform work onsite in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust.
