About our design team
We are a highly focused design team, dedicated to the UX design of AWS Databases. Our portfolio includes RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, QLDB, Keyspaces and Timestream. We support the AWS Database initiatives, work on team and personal growth goals and contribute to the AWS UX design organization. The team is a mix of experienced Amazonians and new members with startup and enterprise backgrounds.

AWS Databases are purpose-built, fully managed, and expand to multiple use cases such us: CRM, high-traffic web apps, gaming, geospatial applications, social networking, IoT applications, industrial telemetry and banking transactions. Key job responsibilities
You'll own the customer experience for small to large features within the AWS Relational Database Service (RDS). As a Senior UX designer for AWS RDS, you'll drive cross-functional collaboration, engage our internal and external users, and design best of breed experiences for thousands of users across the world. You'll think big and drive innovation, finding opportunities to mold the future of RDS and AWS Database services, as well as provide mentorship and guidance for other designers on the team.
You will be responsible for bringing user insights and customer feedback into the decision making process while designing new experiences and exemplifying what it means to be customer obsessed. Expect to be part of the entire design process, from research to ideation, design to execution.

- 6+ years of design experience
- An available online portfolio
- Bachelor or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent degree.
- Experience owning the UX design of complex workflows for technical customers and/or experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity.
- Experience in best practices for information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
- Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps.
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision or similar.
- Experience working in a collaborative, diverse team, working directly with product managers and developers for implementation of designs.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
