The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a underraduate-level DSP/GNSS Engineering Intern for an opportunity located in El Segundo, CA.
In this role, you will become part of the Digital Communications Implementation Department (DCID). DCID uses Software Defined Radios and FPGA technology to analyze, design, implement and cutting edge communications systems & waveforms.We conduct our own research and development in addition to evaluating existing systems. We also look for innovative ways to use existing communications satellites. The Wireless & Navigation Section focuses on matters relating to GNSS signals & concepts. We are looking for curious minds currently studying Electrical Engineering (or CE, or CS, or similar) to come work with our Team. Candidate should be eager to explore modern techniques and unconventional methods for algorithm design and problem solving. Accepted interns will pursue at least two projects while being mentored by department staff, with a final briefing delivered upon completion of the internship.
Key Functions
Implement, test and evaluatenew communications concepts
Test hardware including GNSS Receivers/Simulators and Military Communication Devices
Work as an individual or as a team member on analytical and experimental studies
Document work products in briefings and/or technical reports to customers and colleagues
Interface with Aerospace internal and external customers, and external contractors for the exchange of technical information
Candidate will work on a diverse set of projects. It is very important to be hands-on, willing to learn and be comfortable in working in an environment with engineers of diverse backgrounds and expertise
High motivation with proficiency to learn and carry out tasks with guidance/leadership of experienced staff

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled full time at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing an Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
Familiarity with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, C/C++, MATLAB, Javascript (Node.js/jQuery), or Golang.
Experience working within Unix/Linux programming environments.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
This position requires the ability to obtainand maintaina security clearance;which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
