Job Description
As an Accountant II with ENGIE North America Inc. you will oversee the project accounting function from development phase to warranty phase and close out review working with project managers to ensure jobs are reported accurately and maintain monthly accruals to record unreported job costs.
 
What you’ll do:
  • Setup project in system in accordance with customer contract and project management pricing model. Input WBS structure and project budgets, including phases such as M&V and O&M
  • Work with project managers to ensure job costs are reported accurately; maintain monthly accruals to record unreported job costs
  • Participate in monthly forecast meetings to review costs to date, project cash flow, and project over/under billings
  • Process subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders in system on behalf of project managers
  • Review client billings including supporting AIA document, record in system and generate final cover invoice for submission to customer
  • Review and monitor subcontractor/vendor AIA billings, certificates of insurance, lien waivers and required documents
  • Understand appropriate sales and use tax reporting for responsible projects
  • Prepare project WIP report. Review to ensure cost and revenue is reported correctly and that monthly, annual, and project to date figures are accurate.  Review billed to date and over/under billings
  • Perform accounting project close-out review and close project in the system
  • Ensure all job costs are captured, commitments are closed, all funds are collected from customer, and no accounting issues remain before closing in the system
  • Review pre-contract costs, maintain development projects in system
  • Review warranty projects, monitor costs, maintain warranty dates in system and close
  • Provides support to internal and external audit process
  • Initiate and participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Other tasks & duties as assigned by Manager
 
What you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience with construction accounting
  • Knowledge of AIA billings
  • Proficient in Excel
  • SAP software experience preferred Must be detail oriented and analytical with good problem-solving skills
  • Results driven with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and project team members to achieve results
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with other employees at all levels
  • Self-starter, well organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
