This is the perfect opportunity to enhance your education with practical hands-on experience to prepare you for your future. At AriensCo "Our Legacy is Your Future."The Technical Writer Intern develops and edits technical materials and communications for product owner's manuals, parts catalogs, online parts lookup databases, product installation sheets, work instructions and related publications for outdoor power equipment.THE DAY TO DAY...* Interview personnel* Assemble/dismantle/install product* Observe production and developmental activities to determine operating procedure and detail* Operate product* Observe and perform procedures related to the product and product maintenance* Study bill of materials, parts lists, engineering drawings, safety standards and any other relevant documents* Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology* Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content* Maintain parts look up formatting and add to database* Maintain records and files of work and revisions* Create and/or select and modify photos, drawings, charts and diagrams* Illustrate documents* Perform layout of material for publication* Configure data and upload to online parts databases* Prepare files for distribution to printerIn this internship you will gain experience with:* Overall make up of all of the products* Creating and producing manualsYou will be exposed to:* Solidworks Modeling* Solidworks ComposerTHE QUALIFICATIONS...* Must be enrolled as a student at an accredited university studying toward an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in technical writing, communication, illustration, design or related field.* Must have and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0/4.0About AriensCoSince 1933, the AriensCo name has been associated with reliable, durably crafted, high-performance outdoor power equipment.
