ASML US brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world's leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler Arizona, San Jose and San Diego California, Wilton Connecticut, and Hillsboro Oregon. Having joined the ASML family in 2016, HMI has become an integral part of our holistic lithography portfolio with innovative e-beam inspections solutions.
"This position requires access to controlled technology or information, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology."
Is solving complex
engineering problems with a multi-disciplinary team-effort your passion? Does
working in a multi-cultural and international environment make you spin? Does
contributing to the world's most advanced e-beam machines make you feel
responsible and proud? If all this sounds like music to your ears, then this
might be the right opportunity for you.
As a part of ASML HMI's D&E Sensing and Machine Metrology team, you will develop and realize functional solutions that are instrumental to have our e-beam machines operating productively while maintaining nanometer accuracy. As an designer your mission is to find the optimal design and work with the team to obtain the required results within the constraints of the project. You also contribute to the function roadmap, to support the ASM HMI product roadmap.
ASML HMI's e-beam systems deliver nanometer resolution at
high productivity. The required accuracy level cannot be achieved by hardware
and mechatronics solutions only. At
system level, imperfections of the subsystems need to be measured and
corrected. The Metrology Functional Group creates mathematical models
describing the lithography machine and its imperfections. The parameters of
these models are calibrated using several sensors present in the machine. The
calibrations of the machine can be done offline in a dedicated calibration
test, or inline while running production. Afterwards, the calibrated parameters
are used to control the machine in such a manner that the inaccuracies are
corrected.
Metrology
solutions incorporate systems design concerns that cover the spectrum from
development, realization, integration, manufacturing, installation, to field
and factory support.
To advance our
metrology competence is another aspect of the work. This way we stay on top of
what's required to assure the timely delivery of state of the art solutions for
ASML HMI's product roadmap.
MS or PhD in Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
At least three years of development experience in a
technical product development context or equivalent academic environment is required.
Experience with mathematical modeling and MatLab, and experience in a technical product development are a plus. Understanding and experience with software development teams, but also with system engineering is also a plus.
We expect you to be an excellent communicator, team
player, self-starter, to take initiative and to be result oriented.
As a designer we expect you to show to be quick learning and ready to take the initiative.
This position is within the D&E Department, which is responsible is responsible for the specification, design, implementation, and integration and testing of the ASML HMI's e-beam inspection and metrology products. The sensing and machine metrology functional group is responsible for the measurements, models and calibrations which are required for optimal image positioning and image quality.
