Introduction

ASML US brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world's leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler Arizona, San Jose and San Diego California, Wilton Connecticut, and Hillsboro Oregon. Having joined the ASML family in 2016, HMI has become an integral part of our holistic lithography portfolio with innovative e-beam inspections solutions.

Job Description

-Make conceptual design of the electron optics system according to system performance requirement.

-Simulate the electron optical performance of the electron optics system, modify and finalize the conceptual design, and define requirements toward electronic modules which support the electron optics system.

-Make mechanical design of the electron optics system based on the simulation result.

-Assemble and test the electron optics sub-modules, and integrate the sub-modules to make the electron optics system.

-Perform basic performance testing on the test bench and make test reports.

-Integrate the electron optics system onto the system platform. Test and verify the control functions of the electronic and software.

-Characterize the electron optics system's resolution, current, distortion, and other optical characteristics on the system platform.

-Carry out electron optics experiments on the platform, analyze the test data, and develop solutions to optimize the performance of the electron optics system.  Diagnose complex subsystem issues across algorithms, software, electronics, mechanics, vacuum and electron optics.

-Provide input to new electron optics system specifications, system error budget, interfaces and working parameters for the optimum hardware/software solution.

-Provide technical support to the application engineers in developing applications, live demonstration and result analysis.

-Occasional travel to vendors and customers might be required.

Education

Master degree in physics or applied physics, with knowledge in charged particle physics is required.

Experience

-Experience with scanning electron microscopy is required.

-Experience with charged particle optics, high voltage, vacuum systems, cleanroom activities and semiconductor fabs is desirable.

-Strong diagnostic and trouble shooting skills in electron optics subsystems such as electron sources, optics and detectors.

-The candidate must be hands-on and have good team working spirit.

-The candidate must be self-driven and innovative.
