Academy of Art University is seeking to fulfill technical support roles within the University's academic labs, equipment facilities, and shops for the upcoming Spring 2020 semester. Artistic Lab Technicians work directly with students, faculty, and staff on a variety of matters that ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources within the University's labs, equipment facilities, and shop spaces.

This is a seasonal position, between February 3rd - May 23rd which requires Technicians to work a flexible schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

What an Academic Support Technician Will Do Each Day:

  • Provide quality customer service to all students and faculty
  • Answer questions regarding resource allocation, use, and returns
  • Quickly help to resolve technical matters that directly impact the work of students
  • Support with inventory management and quality control
  • Assist, as needed, with software and hardware updates
  • Ensure best practices are followed for respective work locations

What You Will Need to Bring to the Team:

  • A positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset to successfully troubleshoot a variety of technical matters
  • Strong time management and organizational skill sets that enable you to support a number of individuals effectively and quickly
  • A passion for art and design and at least two years of professional experience working within a related field
  • Knowledge of PCs and Macs is highly preferred. Respective software program and / or tool shop knowledge is necessary.
