Department Overview

The Fleet Maintenance Department is a part of PG&E's Transportation Services Department. We operate out of 6 areas in the PG&E service territory. The Fleet Maintenance Department provides vehicle maintenance and service to PG&E owned and leased vehicles and equipment.

Position Summary

Oversees multiple garage facilities, fleet vehicles/equipment, and fleet operations within an assigned area of PG&E's service territory. Ensures that all fleet personnel maintain complete and precise adherence to all PG&E, federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and guidelines. Supervises and administers the maintenance and repair on all fleet vehicles and equipment. Promotes and ensures a clean, healthy, and safe working environment for all personnel.

This Superintendent, Fleet Operations is responsible for overseeing garages within our North Coast area which includes garages in Santa Rosa, Napa, Vallejo, etc.so we are seeking a new teammate from these Northern California areas.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and reviews department metrics, scorecards, and standards to evaluate and maximize garage operations.
  • Ensures a safe working environment for all employees and personnel and minimize and/or eliminate personnel injuries and vehicle incidents.
  • Ensures the accuracy, integrity, and reporting of fleet operations metrics and data within fleet information systems and applications.
  • Interacts with federal, state, and local regulators and agencies.
  • Manages, leads, coaches, and develops garage (fleet) operations supervisors
  • Partners with directors, other managers, and supervisors to sustain and maximize client services.
  • Produce and deliver both and oral and written presentations regarding garage operations for management.
  • Promotes and fosters company safety, wellness, and accident prevention programs.
  • Provides training and feedback to fleet supervisors regarding performance, quality, standards, expectations, and client services.
  • Resolves escalated issues regarding garage clients, and vendors.
  • Resolves escalated personnel issues and conflicts.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of plans to achieve on- time and metric performance within an assigned area including preventative maintenance, vehicle safety, and, affordability,
  • Responsible for the management and forecasting the area budget.
  • Responsible for the management and leadership of garage operations within an assigned area of PG&E's service territory.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • 8 years of fleet management, operations, or field experience
  • CA Class C License, or equivalent
  • Record of Clean Driving

Desired:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • Experience in maintenance and repair, job-related
  • Experience in utility construction
  • Experience in union environment
