DESCRIPTION

The Triton Testing Center (TTC) offers assessment administration services to support student access and success with integrity. The TTC works collaboratively with the Academic Integrity Office (AIO), the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD), and academic department faculty and staff to offer centralized, secure and proctored testing services for students across the campus including those who need to take their academic tests outside of the space and time constraints of the classroom (e.g., accommodated and make-up exams), and students enrolled in classes that use the TTC as their primary testing service. The TTC is a critical university operation central to the university's teaching and learning mission, as well as its core principles of ethics and integrity.

The Testing Specialist, under the supervision of the Manager and work direction of the Assistant Manager, performs the administrative services of the academic Triton Testing Center (TTC). The Specialist provides program support for the TTC, including data and test processing and general customer service. The Specialist is responsible for executing testing operations on weekday afternoons, evenings and Saturdays, sometimes when the Manager and Assistant Manager are present, but often when they are not. The Specialist must handle minor to moderately complex testing issues, often without assistance. The Specialist is responsible for the testing environment, conditions, security of tests, and delivering accommodations as indicated, and supervises the student staff when Manager and Assistant Manager are not present.

  • The Testing Specialist is needed for Monday-Friday evening shifts (usually 5:30-8:30 pm) and Saturdays.

  • Working more than 20 hours/week may also be required during peak times, such as during finals week.

  • The ability to take vacations may be limited when the academic quarters are in session.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training (such as degree in Education, Student Services, Business Administration, Communications, Social Sciences or related field preferred).

  • Self-directed, able to respond to changes of pace normal in a Testing Center, and committed to establishing and maintaining a collaborative and collegial environment.

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Ability to uphold high standards of test security and integrity.

  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.

  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

  • Experience maintaining a high standard of productivity despite frequent interruptions.

  • Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.

  • Duties may require direct contact with children (defined as individuals under the age of 18); completion of the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) training will be required. Must meet CANRA compliance requirements per California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act ("CANRA," Penal Code sections 11164-11174.4).

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,580 - $98,282 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.45 - $47.07

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
