Job Description

Introduction to the job

As a Senior Material Handler, you will be helping to receive/delivery parts in order to build the e-Beam test equipment. Delivery materials to the right location in a timely manner, complete paperwork processes/reviews, generate reports, and submit payment requests online. It requires on-site attendance at job-related onsite events, trainings and meetings and further ensures teamwork, collaboration and innovation. Facilitates the receipt, verification, computer transactions and physical movement of all incoming manufacturing inventory and non-inventory items. Transports materials to other facilities as needed.

Role and responsibilities
  • Receive and review incoming materials.

  • Conduct a semi-annual inventory cycle count, review descriptions and identify reasons.

  • Execute/review daily order and ensure no orders are missing.

  • Download/view the freight bill and submit the payment process in the system.

  • Handle work via PDAs and computer systems.

  • Process material requests based on work orders, S/O, etc. and pass them on to the requester/engineer/SI.

  • Processing materials to returned to warehouse, suppliers/vendors, etc.

  • Approval of shipping packaging, wrapping materials, crating materials.

  • Accelerates/transports production line parts to appropriate work centers.

  • Generate daily transaction reports, match all documents, then scan and archive.

  • File documents in accordance with departmental procedures.

  • Expedites/communicates line down parts to the appropriate work centers

  • Operate material handling equipment, i.e., hand trucks, pallet jacks.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • You will have the flexibility and trust to choose how best to approach tasks and solve problems.

  • Identify bottlenecks and drive improvements.

  • Occasionally required to move around the campus.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds.

Education and experience
  • High school degree requires 3 years of experience

  • Experience using SAP, Oracle or other inventory management software applications is preferred.

  • Understand the terms and regulations of the Incoterms for Transport.

  • Understand and use MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

  • Ability to analyze and streamline business processes.

  • Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication.

  • Excellent collaboration, teamwork, self-motivation, problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work comfortably under time pressure, with flexibility and adaptive thinking

  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Must be able to read and interpret materials, information and documents. Ability to observe and respond to people and situations encountered in the course of work, and to interact with others.

  • Ability to learn and apply new information or skills.

  • Require employees and subcontractors to work in a safe, professional and ethical manner.

  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.

Role within Office

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35-50 pounds.

  • This position does not require travel.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Role within the Factory

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 35-50 pounds at least twice a day and spend the majority of time (greater than 90% less break time) on the floor working on tool sets, walking three to five miles a day, and/or standing/sitting for eight hours.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The current base annual hourly range for this role is currently $26.86-$44.77. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
