Job Description

The Process Engineer appointed will be working in a blend of a customer facing and technical position, supporting the bidding process and execution of cell formation projects in North America. The candidate will work as part of a global team, spanning Europe, China, India & North America

For the customer-facing portion, the candidate will be a first line responder to customer queries and issues. They will be expected to attend technical and project meetings, host the customer on site, and attend the customer site during commissioning activities. The candidate is expected to manage the open points, and promptly provide the customer with high quality responses & information.

With regards to technical content, the candidate will have the opportunity to work with Comau's cell formation experts, developing new products and technologies as well as planning and executing customer projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, together with the development team, innovative solutions for cell formation
  • Participate in customer projects, developing customizations and industrializing processes.
  • Maintain a strong customer relationship and ensure that the customer is satisfied with our management of projects and developments.
  • Build and Maintain supplier capacity for Process Engineering outsourcing in conjunction with Engineering Planning Managers.
  • Scouting and validating suppliers of equipment and services
  • Contribute to the long-term development of local business and organization
  • Support and align with the proposals team about technical solutions and Mech. and Controls Engineering cost estimation.
  • Identify and manage functional risks.
  • Manage functional KPI

Knowledge & Skills

  • A strong level of knowledge of lithium-ion cells of any format is required.
  • A clear understand of the cell formation process is required.
  • The candidate should have experience in buying, installing and running power electronics for cell formation
  • Knowledge of the technologies required for cell formation such as cell handling automation, logistics systems, OCV, DCIR, ACIR
  • Experience in interfacing production equipment with an MES systems is required
  • Proficient in commissioning process mainly related to automatic lines start-up
  • Basic knowledge of automation concepts, software, and robotic applications is preferred
  • Familiar with COMAU Solutions (standard and special application) is a plus.
