Form Energy is seeking a Senior Process Systems Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability and lifetime of our iron-air batteries, enclosures, and deployed systems. As part of our Reliability team, you will work closely with the Systems and Project Engineering teams to develop test plans, lead failure analyses, analyze data, define critical design requirements, and mitigate risks by establishing a strategy for maintainability. This role will require hands-on work in the lab and cross functional collaboration to evaluate, analyze, and propose design-for-reliability solutions to new and poorly understood problems and gain confidence in our product lifetime. This role will require the direct management and leadership of a small technical team.

• Lead the Design for Reliability function in Form's CA location focused on the product enclosure and system

• Design, execute, and analyze experiments internally and at external labs to evaluate failure mechanisms and their acceleration factors utilizing highly accelerated life, powered thermal cycle endurance, and isolation testing

• Serve as subject matter expert on design for reliability best practices for critical design of electrical components and systems and review vendor reliability data for off the shelf components

• Partner with design owners to translate high level product requirements into functional reliability and lifetime requirements for components and subsystems

• Champion for safety, especially in the development of new laboratory processes and product designs

• 8+ years of hands-on experience working with product development, failure analysis, and hardware reliability

• 2+ years of experience directly managing or leading small technical teams

• Academic degree in reliability engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field

• Experience working with and strong fundamental understanding of electrical components and systems, putting together electrical functional verification specifications, and working hands on with electrical components and systems

• Proven experience developing reliability test plans and data analysis packages and demonstrated ability to share reliability concepts and methods with product engineers

• Experience automating controls and specifying and operating electrical equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, hipot testers, and multimeters

• Experience working with high voltage and high power test systems with acute awareness of safety

• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills within a group of peers and the broader organization, including remote team members

• Electronics or power system design experience is a plus

• Experience with Reliability software is a plus
