Director, FP&A

What You Will Be Doing

We are looking for a FP&A Manager to join our growing team. This individual contributor role will report to the Director of FP&A. This is an opportunity to partner with Operations and Engineering business leaders to drive strategic investment decisions and complex financial analysis to support the development of new, innovative products from NPI stage to mass production, through end of life. The mission of our team is to enable strategic executive and Board-level as well as tactical decision making for the company through financial modeling, fact-based analyses and interpretation of key business and financial trends.

This individual will primarily serve as the Finance Business Partner for the Operations and R&D functions and will help support all related budgeting, reporting, and modeling responsibilities. They will have the opportunity to make a direct impact through activities such as process improvement in addition to identifying risks and opportunities that will have direct visibility to key decision makers.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Drive and manage the annual budgeting process for Operations and Engineering and maintain accurate and updated forecasts for Product COGS, OpEx and CapEx
  • Assist with Gross Margin and Product Costing related analysis across product portfolio
  • Partner closely with Senior leadership to provide impactful Finance support
  • Develop complex models to drive key decision making and influence strategic investment decisions
  • Create and streamline department level reporting to help track and drive informed spending and hiring decisions making
  • Understand key business drivers and clearly communicate implications of decisions made by business leaders
  • Ability to model and track project specific NPI and sustaining fixed costs
  • Continuously evaluate and implement changes to automate and streamline FP&A processes
  • Build management reports, KPIs and dashboards
  • Assist with updating and managing both rolling forecast and long term financial plan assumptions

Requirements

  • An advanced understanding of cost accounting, corporate financial planning, modeling, reporting and analysis
  • 7+ years' experience within Hardware and/or Supply Chain roles supporting R&D and Operations leadership
  • Have a strong understanding of Product Costing and all elements that roll into Cost of Goods Sold including variances
  • Strong understanding of intricacies related to Operating Expenses (OpEx) and Capital Expenditures (CapEx)
  • A high degree of analytical capability with the proven ability to identify business challenges, structure recommendations and provide insights to enable high-level strategic vision
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, CPA, or CFA highly preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with Netsuite, Adaptive Planning or similar planning tools a plus
    • Note - this is a hybrid role - 2-3 days onsite per week

The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $85,000 to $175,500. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
