HVAC Technician

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Aiken Regional Medical Centers has been ranked a top hospital in South Carolina by the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia. Position Description:

Performs a variety of routine to skilled general preventative maintenance duties in the repair, alterations and modification of building, equipment and systems.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain routine records and determines type and extent of malfunctions of equipment and, as necessary, adjust, disassemble, repair or replace parts or components then reassembles and tests for proper operation.
  • Maintains gas fire steam boilers and makes necessary adjustments to ensure proper steam pressure, combustion, water flow, water level and proper operation of safety devices.
  • Performs and completes all preventative maintenance on heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment including fans, motors, radiators, thermostats, dampers, and regulating controls. Replaces filters and fluids as necessary, and completes all routine records of repairs and materials.
  • Performs a variety of general semi-skilled to skilled maintenance alterations and repairs to machinery, equipment and/or facilities.
  • Performs all welding, cutting and joining of metals not requiring critical test or license or certification.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in related engineering area such as air conditioning and/or refrigeration.
  • 2 - 3 years in HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, air handler units or electrical systems.
  • Driver's License required.
