JOB DESCRIPTION

EMPLOYER: Delta Dental of California

TITLE: Senior Application Analyst

Location: 1333 Broadway, Suite 800, Oakland, CA 94612; Must live within reasonable commuting distance from Oakland, CA office and able to appear in office as required.

Salary: $146,266/year - $151,266/year

Job Description: Requirements and Scope Management - Assists the business in building upon the project definition, description and vision document, which may include scope, risk, and identification of stakeholders; plans, coordinates, and creates written documentation that clearly describes the needs of the business, which may include Business Requirements, Business Use Cases, Process Models, Business Needs Analysis, or Conceptual Design Documents; may plan, coordinate, and create Test Strategy and Test Plans, and other supporting documentation as needed. Analysis and Design - In the Analysis and Design phase of the project lifecycle, the business analyst is directly responsible for gathering requirements, researching, and analyzing existing, and proposed solutions in the development, modification, or enhancement of programs or systems. The business analyst will engage in dependency analysis, functional design, workflow analysis, use case analysis, data, and process modeling, and have a clear understanding of the current and future business rules. Planning and Control - Prepares and plans all aspects of the Requirements discipline, including controlling or participating in estimating, feasibility analysis, meeting facilitation, management, and executive reporting, change request management, issue tracking, process improvements, and project planning. QA and Test Support - Prepares or participates in the Testing discipline, including Test Planning, incident research and analysis, Test strategy, QA, and CAT functions, as needed. Production Support - Provides support as needed throughout the project lifecycle, participating directly in issue resolution, break and hot fix support, and triage in the identification and resolution of all project incidents, documentation maintenance and traceability as related to the Requirements discipline. Customer Focus and Partnership - Is an advocate for the business, by providing first class service through the expert development of the Requirements discipline; lends subject matter expertise and knowledge management to the project team and stakeholders; supports and takes pride in the assurance of total customer benefit and satisfaction for the product delivery. Must live within reasonable commuting distance from Oakland, CA office and able to appear in office as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Biotechnology, or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related role.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Requirements elicitation methods, approaches, and tactics for Use Case development;
  2. Advanced understanding of modelling data requirements, business process and business rules;
  3. Applied experience in agile development methodology with strong knowledge of managing the full implementation lifecycle for delivery of systems solutions (analyze, design, build, test, implement, support);
  4. Defect creating and tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla or mercury Quality center; and
  5. Database technologies such as MS SQL and Oracle.


Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $146,266 - $151,266
