Overview

LifeLong Medical Care has an exciting new opportunity for a Human Resources Specialist in Berkeley. The Human Resources Specialist is the primary contact for LifeLong Medical Care's third-party credentialing partner. This role will act as a liaison between the credentialing vendor, Human Resources, and Operations, and will maintain all internal credentialing and privileging records while adhering to standard credentialing and privileging best practices and government regulations and requirements.

This is a full time, exempt, benefit eligible position. Must be able to work in-person in Berkeley, CA.

Benefits

Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000/year. We offer excellent benefits including: medical, dental, vision (including dependent and domestic partner coverage), generous leave benefits including ten paid holidays, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) retirement savings plan.

Responsibilities
    Serve as an internal credentialing and privileging subject matter expert while working with Human Resources, Operations, Compliance, and Macman Management Healthcare Services (LifeLong Medical Care's third-party credentialing vendor), to meet LifeLong Medical Care's credentialing needs.
  • Create and maintain both paper and electronic credentialing files in accordance with credentialing best practices, utilizing third-party credentialing vendor's records and government regulations and requirements, to ensure that our credentialing records are always "audit-ready."
  • Partner with Recruiting Coordinator(s) and Human Resources Generalist(s) to assign credentialing license information and categories to new hires and existing employees.
  • Collaborate with Recruiting Coordinator(s) to monitor recruitment status of candidates to ensure timely credentialing prior to employment.
  • Utilize ADP to maintain a current and accurate record of provider data for use in the credentialing, re-credentialing, and appointment process.
  • Facilitate the collection of privileging forms from new hires and clinical leadership.
  • Ensure that Human Resources and third-party credentialing vendor onboarding processes are in alignment and that all required documentation is collected.
  • Run and distribute ADP reports as needed for internal and external partners regarding patient facing staff. Maintain effective working relationships with Operations, Billing, IT, Quality Improvement, Compliance, administrative support staff, and other credentialing agencies and health plans to ensure necessary flow of information to maintain credentialing.
  • Connect with clinical leadership from the Operations, Behavioral Health, and Dental departments to collect and validate information for patient-facing staff.
  • Provide required documentation to appropriate clinician managers and committees at the practice sites.
  • Address any credentialing-related issues or discrepancies promptly and work proactively with Human Resources and third-party credentialing vendor to proactively resolve them in a professional manner.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate personnel or department for further resolution.
  • Provide termination notification documents as requested by third-party credentialing vendor.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) including Federal Tort Claim Act (FTCA), and all relevant laws and regulations regarding Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) credentialing requirements.
  • Assist with reviewing, updating, and developing credentialing policies, procedures, and processes in coordination with organizational leadership.
  • Complete HR special projects and perform back up duties for HR team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of credentialing experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding customer service skills approach to problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail as well as above-average interpersonal skills are necessary for the position.

Job Preferences

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) designation.
  • Proficient in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience with diverse employee populations and multi-location organizations.
  • Community Health or Non-profit experience.
